VT GIS Policy

This document collects and links to examples of parcel definitions in statute in Vermont and other states. It also offers commentary on those definitions relative to Vermont practice.

This Life Cycle Support Policy is designed to help communicate to VCGI's users the technical resources available during a web application's life span and to provide advanced notification of planned changes to web applications offered by VCGI. This document addresses VCGI's policy and plans regarding web applications hosted by VCGI.

This document details the policy of the Vermont Center for Geographic
Information, Inc. (VCGI) in regard to procuring VGIS-compatible
data, services, and products for VCGI customers and for the VGIS
community from public agencies and commercial GIS service
providers. VCGI recognizes the importance and usefulness of all such
public and private sector providers to the Vermont Geographic
Information System (VGIS).

To establish policy regarding public access to the information and
electronic products available from the Vermont Center for Geographic
Information, Inc. (VCGI).

This policy describes the roles of the Vermont Center for Geographic
Information, Inc. (VCGI), local and state government, regional
planning commissions, and other organizations, as partners in the
Vermont Geographical Information System (VGIS).

Geographic Information Systems are powerful computer systems that can provide a
sophisticated analysis and display of information highly useful to planners, analysts,
and managers in government and business. This Handbook is designed to provide a
single source of information concerning VGIS policies, standards, guidelines and
procedures.
