NEURISA is proud to announce our first NEURISA Lighting Talks event for 2013. It will be held on Tuesday, April 16 (6-9 PM) at Dartmouth College, NH. Each presentation is limited to 20 slides which auto-advance every 15 seconds, encouraging presenters to stay on topic and on their toes! This year we are inviting University and College students to submit abstracts as well as GIS professionals.
Registration: Attendance is free. Seating is limited to 40 people, so register today.
Call for Presentations: We are actively looking for speakers. Topics include anything and everything GIS or IT related. Do you have a quick GIS or IT story to tell? Submit a presentation proposal online by going to: http://www.neurisa.org/lightningNH2013. The submission deadline is April 1st.

Open Topography provides download option for LiDAR data and products
The Missisquoi LiDAR is now available for download on Open Topography. Open Topography allows you to download the point cloud in addition to various other products (e.g. raster surface models).
Thanks to Jarlath O'Neil-Dunne of the UVM Spatial Analysis Lab for making the data available in this way!

VCGI has updated its documentation regarding the many Web Map Services and Imagery Services it makes available, and there are more then ever before! Click here to learn what is available and how to connect via the internet to the VCGI Basemap, Orthophotos, Contours, and USGS Topo maps.
Available in black and white or color infrared!
2012 VT Orthophotos (compressed, .jp2 files) have been posted for download at the VCGI Data Warehouse: http://vcgi.vermont.gov/warehouse/imagery!
This is the second flight of the third vintage of digital VT orthos, and the area covered includes Addison County, Orange County, and part of Washington County. Check this Index map for the exact boundaries: http://dware.vcgi.org/image_library/media_info/indexes/vintage_three_0_5_PAN.pdf
Specifications for this imagery include:
- 50 cm pixels (same as previous state ortho imagery)
- Black and White, Color, and Near Infrared will be available (previously only Black and White)
- Collected after the snow melts and before the trees leaf out (same as previous imagery)
- The horizontal accuracy of the orthorectified imagery shall meet or exceed a verified ASPRS Class I horizontal accuracy of +/- 1 meter RMSE (for both X and Y) for 50cm ground sample distance imagery and 2.44 meters at 95% confidence level according to the NSSDA standard methodology.
If you are interested in obtaining the uncompressed version of this imagery (geotiff) , it will be available for purchase as a stand-alone product until August 15, 2013. After that it will only be included in the Uncompressed VT 1:5k orthos (all vintages) product and the All Available Imagery product. Visit the products page for more info and to order.
